We want you to know that you don’t have to navigate this process alone. To make things easier, we’ve put together a list of frequently asked questions and answers, giving you helpful information up front and helping ease some of the unknowns. From the first phone call to your arrival and throughout your stay, we’ll walk with you every step of the way, ensuring you feel supported, informed, and reassured as you take this important step toward healing.

Preparing to Come to Treatment

We allow limited device use based on your phase of care and progress in treatment. All patients must sign and follow an electronics consent form prior to use. Examples of devices which may be allowed are: cell phones, tablets, music players, and blue tooth headphones.

Yes. EOSIS Northern Plains has designated smoking areas. You can smoke between group hours as well as before or after daily group hours. Smoking is not allowed overnight during curfew hours. Vaping is permitted but only a limited amount of non-fillable, non-rechargeable, disposable vapes are allowed.

We provide medication assisted treatments to ease the discomfort of withdrawal and to ease cravings. If you are medically compromised, we may have you detox at one of our Gateway Recovery centers before coming to treatment. That will be determined during your intake process.

We allow service animals with the appropriate paperwork. Animal support animals are not allowed.

What to Expect Once You're Here

Yes. Visiting hours are Tuesdays (6:00-8:00PM Women / 7:00-9:00 Men) and Sundays (1:00-3:00 Men / 3:00-5:00 Women).

Yes. EOSIS Northern Plains offers co-occurring mental health services provided by a MN Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. You may also choose to get mental health services through local community mental health providers.

We have an XBox 360, pool tables, dart boards, basketball, volleyball, frolf, cornhole, horseshoes, cards, books, arts and crafts, football, bocce ball, softball, and much more. And at certain times of the year, we will go to the Rally for Recovery and movies.

We will pick up items from the local store throughout the week.

No. We offer programming for men and women, but they run separately without programming together. Men and women are split onto two different units and do not interact with one another. 

Coffee is served all day long and snacks are provided in the evening. Vending machines are available to you.

Breakfast is continental whereas lunch and dinner are hot meals provided by our on-site chefs. We can accommodate dietary restrictions.

Groups can vary in length of time but are offered from 8:30-5:00 Monday through Friday, with additional groups offered Saturday and Sunday.

Yes, and laundry detergent is provided. Fabric softener is not provided.

The average length of time is about 35 days. However, the length of the program is individually based and determined by your clinical progress in recovery.

There are two people in each room.

You may have appointments for individual therapy or continuing care once you are discharged. We will connect you with the appropriate community resource to continue your recovery journey.
