From the first phone call to your arrival and throughout your stay, we’ll walk with you every step of the way, ensuring you feel supported, informed, and reassured as you take this important step toward healing.

Preparing to Come to Treatment

Yes. Personal electronic devices such as cell phones, tablets, music players, and blue tooth headphones are allowed. Personal wearable devices such as smart rings, smart watches, smart glasses, and other similar devices are not permitted without a doctor’s order. Use is permitted but limited under certain circumstances.

Yes Beauterre has designated smoking areas. You can smoke between group hours as well as before or after daily group hours. Smoking is not allowed overnight during curfew hours. Vaping is permitted but only a limited amount of non-fillable, non-rechargeable, disposable vapes are allowed.

Yes. We want everyone to feel safe and free from substances so items may need to be searched. The mailing address is: 2480 County Hwy 45, Owatonna, MN 55060

We allow service animals with the appropriate paperwork. Animal support animals are not allowed.

No, but there are televisions in shared spaces that you can use during leisure times. 

We provide medication assisted treatments to ease the discomfort of withdrawal and to ease cravings. If you are medically compromised, we may have you detox at one of our Gateway Recovery centers before coming to treatment. That will be determined during your intake process.

Yes, at Beauterre, we can accommodate individuals who are on methadone as part of their treatment plan. We focus on creating personalized care that addresses your unique needs, including any medications you may be taking. It’s important to discuss your situation during the admissions process to ensure the best approach for your recovery.

Yes, you can bring prescribed medications to Beauterre. It’s important to inform the staff about any medications you are taking upon your arrival, so they can assist you in managing them appropriately during your stay.

We accept most types of commercial insurance.  We are unable to accept Medicaid/Medicare at Beauterre. If you are interested in programs that accept Medicaid, we encourage you to explore the programs offered by our parent organization, EOSIS.

There are a maximum of 64 patients at any given time and yes, it is a co-ed facility.

Determining whether outpatient or residential treatment is a decision made on an individual basis, because each person is unique and their recovery journey will look different. It is worth reflecting on whether you would benefit from stepping away from your everyday life to focus on treatment. If you’d like, we also offer a self-guided assessment to explore if you have a substance abuse concern. Part of our admissions process includes a formal assessment to determine if residential treatment is an appropriate step, so you can reach out to us at any time of day to start the conversation.

Yes. On our campus, but in a separate building, we have an intensive outpatient program. So, as you progress in your clinical milestones, you’re able to transition to outpatient and start using your new recovery skills in your every-day life while still receiving the support you need to be successful.

We treat all sorts of substance abuse addiction including alcohol, meth, crack cocaine, abuse of prescribed medications, opiates, inhalants and more. Regardless of your choice of substances, your recovery process will be the same.

What to Expect Once You're Here

Yes. We do have in person visitation at the facility. Visitation is on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 pm for all patients. We also have visitation 2:00-4:00 pm Saturdays and Sundays. To balance the number of visitors on campus, some patients will have weekend visitation hours on Saturdays while others will have their visitation hours on Sundays.

Yes. Beauterre offers co-occurring mental health services provided by a licensed mental health professional. 

Passes are not allowed for High-intensity clients. Low-intensity patients can have passes with frequency and length dependent on each person’s clinical progression. Low-intensity patients are encouraged to find part-time employment outside of group hours and may use their personal car for transportation with proof of a valid DL, insurance and registration.

You can pursue many extracurricular activities while at Beauterre including the following:

  • Volleyball

You also are welcome to bring your own things to do during free time (such as your favorite books or art supplies).

Coffee is available until lunchtime. Snacks are available in the evening after dinner.

We have a professional food services provider who consults with a dietician in setting the menu. The quality of our food is exceptional. We can accommodate dietary restrictions.

Individual sessions are one hour, and groups are generally 1-2 hours.

At Beauterre, we prioritize your privacy and confidentiality. Your presence at the facility is kept confidential, and we do not disclose your information without your consent, except as required by law. You can focus on your recovery with peace of mind.

We have laundry facilities and we provide detergent but if you have any specific needs, please talk with the admission staff so we best accommodate your needs.

There are 2 people in every room, but you can pay for a single room depending on availability.

AA/NA speakers come on site two times per week, but you are not required to attend.  You have the opportunity to go to an off-site recovery group once per week.

A stay in residential treatment at Beauterre is based on clinical need. Before you arrive, our admissions team will ensure you and your loved ones know what to expect but understand that may change based on your progress. You will be assessed throughout your stay to determine if clinical milestones are being met.

You may have appointments for individual therapy or continuing care once you are discharged. We will connect you with the appropriate community resource to continue your recovery journey.

Store runs are done 1-2 times a week.
