Coming to addiction treatment can be a tough and often overwhelming decision, and it’s natural to feel uncertain about what lies ahead. We want you to know that you don’t have to navigate this process alone. Our team is here to answer any questions you may have and to provide clear, compassionate guidance about what you can expect from treatment. To make things easier, we’ve put together a list of frequently asked questions and answers, giving you helpful information up front and helping ease some of the unknowns. From the first phone call to your arrival and throughout your stay, we’ll walk with you every step of the way, ensuring you feel supported, informed, and reassured as you take this important step toward healing.

Preparing to Come to Treatment

Yes. Personal electronic devices such as cell phones, tablets, music players, and blue tooth headphones are allowed. Personal wearable devices such as smart rings, smart watches, smart glasses, and other similar devices are not permitted without a doctor’s order. Use is permitted but limited under certain circumstances.

Yes. EOSIS Tapestry has designated smoking areas. You can smoke between group hours as well as before or after daily group hours. Smoking is not allowed overnight during curfew hours. Vaping is permitted but only a limited amount of non-fillable, non-rechargeable, disposable vapes are allowed.

Yes. We want everyone to feel safe and free from substances so items may need to be searched. The mailing address is: 135 E Colorado St, St Paul, MN 55107

Over-the-counter medications are provided by our nursing department as needed, so there is no need to bring your own. If you wish to bring vitamins, they must be in their original packaging and in a new, unopened bottle. All items will be reviewed by the nursing staff during the admission process to ensure they meet safety guidelines.

Outside TVs are not allowed but there are 2 TV’s which can viewed outside of group times. Musical instruments can be brought into the facility, but EOSIS is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged property. The playing of instruments should be respectful of others and outside of programming. Video games are not allowed nor are there video games available. Time in treatment should be focused on you and your recovery.

We allow service animals with the appropriate paperwork. Animal support animals are not allowed.

We provide medication assisted treatments to ease the discomfort of withdrawal and to ease cravings. If you are medically compromised, we may have you detox at one of our Gateway Recovery centers before coming to treatment. That will be determined during your intake process.

What to Expect Once You're Here

EOSIS Tapestry visiting hours are on Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM and Saturdays from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. We also offer additional visiting time on Thursdays following our clinician-led Family Education Group, which takes place from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with visiting from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Please note that to visit on Thursday evenings, participation in the Family Education Group is required.

The Family Education Group at EOSIS Tapestry is a weekly, clinician-led group held on Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. It is designed to support patients and their loved ones—whether family members, partners, or other support persons—by providing education and tools to better understand and navigate the recovery process. Topics covered include the impact of addiction on the family, mental health, setting healthy boundaries, self-care, and effective communication skills. This group is an important part of the healing process not just for patients, but for their support systems as well. Due to the sensitive nature of the discussions, children under the age of 13 are not permitted to attend.

Yes. EOSIS offers co-occurring mental health services provided by a MN Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.

In our high-intensity residential program, passes are generally not permitted. Exceptions may be made for immediate family funerals, which must be approved by both your counselor and program management. Off-site medical appointments must go through our nursing team and are approved based on medical necessity only. While personal passes are limited, we do provide opportunities for supervised off-site engagement. These include weekly support group meetings, community service, and recovery-based activities.

For patients in our low-intensity residential program, personal passes may be granted as a privilege, provided individuals are actively participating in treatment and meeting all programming expectations.

 

An onsite laundry room is available for patient use. Laundry detergent is provided by the facility.

 

Yes, you are welcome to bring snacks or have them brought to you by friends or family. For the safety of all residents, staff will inspect all items received. Snacks must be non-perishable, unopened, and not packaged in glass or metal containers. Additionally, soda and snack vending machines are available onsite for your convenience.

All meals are prepared onsite by our kitchen staff. If you have any dietary requirements or restrictions, the nursing staff will review and address them with you during the admission process to ensure your needs are accommodated.

Our facility provides essential hygiene products, including lotion, shampoo and conditioner, deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste, comb or brush, hair ties, soap, and a nail file. Additionally, residents may place online orders for personal items during designated phone times; however, all online orders must be delivered directly to the facility. Loved ones are also permitted to deliver necessary items or order them online for delivery to the facility.

Groups and individual sessions are about an hour. There are 32 hours of clinical programming per week along with individual sessions with your licensed addiction counselor and mental health professional as needed. 

Our program offers a variety of recreational activities designed to support relaxation, social connection, and personal expression. These include talent shows, arts and crafts, karaoke, and volunteering opportunities.

EOSIS Tapestry offers two types of bedrooms: double occupancy and triple occupancy. Roommates are assigned randomly at the time of admission. If you have any concerns or preferences about your room assignment or roommates, please feel free to speak with your counselor. We are committed to ensuring a safe and affirming space for all residents.

Yes. Latitudes and Tapestry are two separate programs housed within the same facility, each with distinct living quarters. Tapestry serves female-identifying patients, while Latitudes is designed specifically for LGBTQIA+ patients. Although living spaces remain separate, patients from both programs may come together during certain treatment components and activities to foster community and support.

We prioritize the safety and well-being of all patients by maintaining separate living quarters and dedicated staff teams for each program. Our facility enforces clear guidelines and protocols to promote a respectful and inclusive environment. During any shared activities or treatment components, staff supervision is provided to ensure positive interactions and to address any concerns promptly. We are committed to creating a safe, supportive space where every individual feels respected and affirmed.

You may have appointments for individual therapy or continuing care once you are discharged. We will connect you with the appropriate community resource to continue your recovery journey.
